Well, it's Saturday morning and I made my trip to the gym!! I was determined to find out IF I would even be able to walk/jog the entire 5K distance, and I knew I couldn't do a full 20 minute run yet, so here's how it broke down today...
5 minute warm up walk
10 min jog{at 4.0mph-yeah I am soooo slow}
3min walk
7 min jog {at a bit faster pace. 4.2mph}
4 min walk
5min jog {at 4.2mph}
3 min walk
6 min jog{at 4.0}
3 min walk
4 min jog{at 4.2/ 4.0}
TOTAL TIME =50minutes, TOTAL JOGGING TIME=34minutes, TOTAL DISTANCE= 5K/3.105miles
So, the GOOD news is that I can walk/jog the entire distance of a 5K, the BAD news is, I'm still very slow, the INSANE news, is that I have decided to sign up to walk/jog the Highland Festival 5K, here in my hometown on May 26th. I DO NOT plan to jog the entire thing, but I hope to improve my speed, and decrease the walk times just a tad in the next 3 weeks. But if not, that's okay too, this is just a practice kind of thing!!!
