Words aren't always necessary...

Sometimes words just aren't necessary, sometimes it's just nice to listen to music without lyrics, so today I listened to Apocalyptica while I walked/jogged... well mostly
AHHHH HAHAHAHA!!! who we kidding, we all know I could never go 30+ minutes without talking or hearing someone else talk, unless I'm sleeping!!!
I did manage to make it to the gym today though, and I did manage to do Week 5 Day 1 again.  Next week I will be repeating Week 5, but I will attempt to do each day the way it's set up to be done.  Will I make it?? Not completely confident that I can run for 8 whole minutes straight, but we shall find out!!

Update on Project "Reclaim that Space!" The studio is DONE!!! Well, I'd say it's at 95% anyway.  I need to do some small things like touch up the floor where I painted around the futon legs, when I did the floor.  I have a couple of canvases I want to paint to hang on the wall,  my magnetic board needs attached to the wall, some throw pillows need to be made or bought for futon, fabric on chairs needs to be stained black, and some picture frames need to be put up on top of book shelves.  So there are a few finishing touches that need to be done, but I can live with the way things are right now, the rest will get done, in time!! OR maybe I will try to tackle that list on Tuesday. THEN I will post complete, detailed pictures for your viewing pleasure!!!

Working on making lots of lists. Have to attend a college graduation Sunday, for a good friend of my son/daughter. Husband is off to the races Sunday.  Busy remained of the weekend.

Short post today.  Will be back in full force early next week!!

Progress is slow moving... and so am I

Last night I promised myself I would sleep in today, and I did until 6:20.  I actually woke at 6, tried to go back to sleep, but no such luck!! So I got up!! I won't lie, I skipped the gym today!!! Why??? Well becuz my entire body hurts from the moving, NO ONE warned me that moving an entire studio up a flight of stairs was going to be such a monumental task!! And I'm only half way done!!!! Last night I decided to take a break and enjoy the studio the way it was, half finished, the shelves are so pretty and tidy, uncluttered. But I know that will not last, there is way too much stuff to go on them still, they will soon be jammed to capacity and cluttered.  It's a studio, a work space, that was the purpose of the shelves, right??!?! RIGHT So after an hour of just enjoying the room the way it was, I made peace with the fact that I need to work in here and it needs to be full to the top!!! Today, I'm going back to my real job, so I'll only be able to work on the studio later today for a few hours. In the meantime, I'll leave you a few update pics, if you've been checking the Instagram feed at the bottom, you already know where we are at in terms of progress, but these pics should be a bit better

I promise a full, up close and personal tour, when it's all completed. Which hopefully will be by the weekend, so we can start library and Maddy's room, then the attic.  I wonder if my husband will expect help with the music room...

Progress on project "Reclaim That Space" Pics

Alright, after running a bunch of errands yesterday I finally got started on the painting.
so here's what I've done so far...

Always start with the artistic silly pic!!

BEFORE

More artistic~ness...

Forgot the BEFORE so this is kind of DURING

more DURING
This house is over 100yrs old so it has some strange things going on in it, like the baseboards. They are tall but thin and hard to paint and different heights in places too. You'd think we'd change them, but I'm just not THAT ambitious!!! You'll also notice I DO NOT use the blue painters tape! I am a very detail oriented kind of girl, but only in certain areas of my life ~painting isn't one of them!!! I like the black trim, but man THAT was a lot of work{and it's only half done}!! And I worry that it's gonna be kind of dark in there, which is why I was thinking I'd just go with an all white room. BUT that's just NOT me! I like color, dark colors. So I'll just have to buy more lighting!!! Not sure what's gonna go on for curtains either.  Had black ones in this room and they are pretty new, so I figured I'd repurpose them.  But with the windows being black trim, I worry that, that is a lot of black!  The new book cases will be black to.  I LOVE black, it IS my FAVORITE color!!!!
Inside of cubby, DONE

My husband has a buddy who now lives out in Utah, and he is here for a visit.  About the time I had one coat of black trim paint done and was starting to edge the rest of the walls with the white.  My husband came home from riding dirt bikes and asked if I was going to the Pub with them for dinner and then over to the River Rock Bar for Open Mic Night cuz Tallon was gonna play.  Well THAT'S an offer I can NOT turn down, so that was the end of the painting for Thursday.  Hopefully I will get back at it tonight.  Although it may have to wait until Sunday becuz tonight is a big night at the barn, Maddy has a horse show Saturday morning that will need to be gotten ready for.  Not sure she'll need my help?!?!?!

Tallon at the River Rock
Ryan and Tallon singing
Tallon and Ryan
Watching theBoys sing/plays is always worth putting off an important task!
The new radio station promotional T-shirts arrived today. Had to make a run to  pick up ours.  These are sooooo dang funny!!! Tallon is such a humble and modest person that having shirts with his face on them kinda freaks him OUT!!!! Which makes it even more fun for us to wear them!!!
Oh and I decided in honor of Project "Reclaim That Space" I would streak my hair, to match the new "Teal Lake" colored wall and cubby!!! Okay actually I backed into the wall while painting inside the cubby and my pony tail stuck to the wall and now I have "Teal Lake" streaks in my hair! Awesome!!!! OH WELL, I'm getting a new/freshly painted studio, who cares about my hair!!! There's still a ton of work to do, but I'm getting kinda excited!!!

Week 4 ~You DO NOT INTIMIDATE ME!!

THAT's RIGHT! I will not be scared of Week 4, I will keep getting up every Tues. Thurs. Sat. at 6am, I will trudge my flabby fat ass to the gym and I will keep trying UNTIL I make it.  And today I MADE IT!!!! I did the entire workout, beginning to end!!

5 minute brisk walk warm up
jog 3 minutes
walk 90 seconds
jog 5 minutes
walk 2.5 minutes
jog 3 minutes
walk 90 seconds
jog 5 minutes
5 minutes brisk walk cool down
I actually walked 4-5 extra minutes too

I realize this doesn't sound that tough, but keep in mind I'm out of shape, old and fat!! So for me this was tough!! I think the vitamins and more red meat is helping, I'm feeling better every day. So Week 4 Day 2 in FINALLY in the BOOKS!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!

Today I have a few errands to run, and I'm also buying paint!!  Operation "Reclaim That Space" Continues today.  The plan is to get at least the walls painted today. Floors on Sunday. Unless today goes exceptionally fast and easy then I'll tackle floors too, but that's NOT likely.  Nothing ever goes fast and easy for me!! Pics later today, or in the morning!!!

Project "Reclaim That Space" Has Begun

Yesterday marked Day one of Project Reclaim that Space!! YEs, I gave it a name!! A project this big, deserves a name. By the time this project is complete it will involve 3 bedrooms, an attic, and a small library {area, and quite possibly a letter from the City complaining about the amount of trash we've put out to the curb, every week for a month} I've developed a plan of attack. 1.) Gut Tallon's room. Move Tallon's bed and some furniture into Maddy's empty room. Paint, move studio up there. Repurpose Tallon and Maddy's, no longer in use, furniture for studio. 2.)Move Tallon's guitars and music crap into music studio. Ryan can handle that room from there. 3.) Gut Maddy's room. Decide if ugly carpet stays or goes {I would prefer goes, but this is Ryans final decision, as he will need empty space in room for recording drummers and such, carpet helps with echo, but it's hideous} Gut the library area. Paint both becuz Maddy's room is open to library area and both need to be painted at same time! 4.) Move on to Attic.

Sounds simple right!! Want to see some before pictures...

Tallon's Bedroom, yes that IS a mini fridge hiding behind the chair, next to the futon!
Should have gotten more of an aerial view, so you could truly appreciate this MESS

His closet area
If you are keeping count, yes he left several of his guitars here at home too.
There are several more spread throughout the house

closet at the other end of the room/TV area. And laundry pile
Now I bet you are wondering what he took with him when he moved out...
ME TOO!!!
He took a few clothes, his desk, iMac, TV ~that's it.
Told me the rest, he didn't want!!

Maddy's room. She took her bed when she moved into apartment.
She still comes home every weekend and some days during the week, so part of this mess has to stay, but become organized, SOMEHOW! She will be taking dresser, to the left, in August when she moves into bigger apt. for the next year. We haven't painted this room in like 10yrs. Torn between a dark aqua colored wall or a red wall.  The rest of the room is going to be white and black.

The massive console TV{the one with the Z93 banner taped to it!} is junk{and was in Tallons room}
I will be stealing her desk for studio. And the tall dresser will either go into studio or attic for use as storage To the right of her room is the staircase and on the other side is the library area, which I forgot to take pics of. Will take some and post later this week with the In Progress Pics!!

This is the view from Tallons bedroom window... I decided the best way to get stuff out to the trash, was toss it out the window!!!

Here is what I managed to get done in the first day. Futon will be staying, gotta figure out how to paint floor with it up here. It's too big to go anywhere else!

the busted up old window Air conditioner was too heavy for me to get out and my husband told me I could NOT toss it out window!!! Guess he didn't appreciate my work!!!

And the other angle...

Bed and side table for Maddy.

Now to choose a paint color.  I know all those whites look the same, but they are NOT.  You can't really tell in this picture though.  Painting walls is scheduled to begin Thursday mid morning~ish.
I will keep you updated on the progress of project "Reclaim That Space" Should be an interesting journey.
