I've always considered myself a bit of a morning person, especially compared to the other 3 people who lived in this household. But lately I have struggled with getting out of bed and getting going every morning!!! At first my attitude was kinda well my kids are both out of school, no more lunches to pack, no dragging the whiners out of bed, no one to drive to school, I deserve to sleep in! And then winter came and brought with it the freezing cold mornings and the darkness, then my attitude was it's so cold and so dark, maybe just a few more minutes in bed. It was quickly becoming a habit, a very bad habit for me!! As you all know I made it one of my "Resolutions/Goals/Wishes&Dreams/One Little Word" to reclaim my time management skills... It's really been bugging me that I just can't roll out of bed and get going, so much so that I actually had this blog topic listed in my little "Blog Topic Ideas List" {yep another list}
Today I was reading through some of the blogs I enjoy and I came across a great little video by Mel Robbins {@ TEDxSF F--YOU How to stop screwing yourself over.} on brandyink.typepad.com It was funny cuz it was almost like she was talking directly to me!LOL!! Funny how that Universe works isn't it?!?!?!
I've tried to figure out how to post the video here, but again my lack of technological skills has gotten the best of me, damn!! If you are interested go to branyink and watch or look for her on youtube.
It was a very interesting little video My first thought was, dang! If she thinks I could stop saying THE "F" word, she's F*@*ing crazy!!! I LOVE The F~bomb!!! Luckily she meant FINE!!! WHEW!!! Huge sigh of relief!!! then we got to the good stuff...
decide what you want, stop saying your fine you're not, the odds of You being born were 1: 4 trillion, Fact you are never going to feel like it, it takes activation energy, your soul needs regeneration and growth, it only takes 5 seconds to kill an idea. And its Simple to get what you want, but not easy. Force yourself, get out of your head, past your feelings and outside your comfort zone. That's my crazy summarization of her words!!! I really did not do Mel justice... watch the video!!
The long and short of it?? I have decided I want to reclaim my time management skills, it won't be easy, I have to force myself. I have to start by forcing myself out of bed in the morning!!! It applies to several of the items on the Big "Resolutions/Goals/Wishes&Dreams/One Little Word" List for this year, like reclaiming my health and fitness. And running that 5k. Not to mention ALL those creative related goals!!! Whew! I am feeling a bit inspired!! Hope I can carry through at 5am tomorrow!!!
