HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL!!!

Halloween is by far one of the favorite holidays at our house, at least for me & Maddy, the Men folk don't much care about ANY holiday!! As a little child Maddy was NOT a fan of Halloween, at all!!!
My moms birthday was on Halloween, and she took the whole holiday pretty serious. She would decorate her whole house. And she would comb the Halloween aisles, in every store, looking at the costumes and decorations, and candy!!! Her & Tallon would put on every scary mask and make monster sounds, sometimes chasing each other around the store. They both took great joy in scaring the crap out of Maddy this way. Maybe that's why she hated Halloween for several years!!!!! But that was the joy of my mother. And now every year since my mom died, Maddy has put on my moms old, ugly, homemade Halloween sweatshirt {you remember the puffy paint ones from the early 90's} and celebrates the holiday, like it's her job!!!  I do not decorate like my mother did, although Maddy would like it, if I did. But I've saved most of my moms decorations, in the attic, for when Maddy has her own house. Maybe we aren't completely celebrating just the holiday, but also my moms life and her birthday. {I'm not one to be mournful or sad over a life lost, or give cancer any power, but I will celebrate the life that once was. And the good memories left behind}

Tonight Maddy will venture to her boyfriends house, wearing the ugly shirt, and hand out candy to the little kids!!! We NEVER EVER get Trick-or-Treaters out in our neck of the woods, so she goes looking for them!!

The house is clean, a few decorations are out, candles are burning, if smells like fall and pumpkins.
This week we have carved the pumpkins, and baked pumpkin goodies!!!

Stella was very interested in the whole pumpkin carving

Stella ate her fair share of pumpkin guts
NO Surprise there...

Ali likes to be a part of what's going on too

Maddy's pumpkin
It's Dave the Minion
from the movie Despicable Me.
She's not real happy with how he turned out
But I say, he's cute!

I do stars almost every year.
The one next to it was going to have a moon
But he was soft and his stalk fell in.

THIS was her idea!!!
We baked Gluten Free Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies
I am a terrible cook/baker
But they turned out pretty good.
The fudge was a runny, so we've been using it as frosting on the cookies!

I hope you all enjoy the holiday, Happy Halloween!!!!!

A Bit of Fall Decorating

Here's what we did with those Pumpkins!!! Yep, we've done a bit of decorating for Fall here. Just a little bit though, thought I'd share some pics with ya'.

This is in my entryway, just inside the door.

Soooo EXCITED for Honeycrisp apples

Our tiny little porch!

Yep. That's our ENTIRE porch!!LOL

This guy is my FAVORITE pumpkin
of ALL time!!!!

And this is another view!!
Notice that tall guy on the left,
tucked in between purple & yellow mums
HIS name is DAVE.
Yep, we have the tiniest, little, janky porch.  An awesome deck, is on the MAYBE some day list, maybe! But until then I'm a believer in that saying, when life hands you lemons, make lemonade {or since it's fall, when life hands you pumpkins, make pie!} So I choose to concentrate on the fact that I have a secluded, huge yard with a pretty decent view, and the occasional wildlife.

Oh and yes, you probly also noticed we really really need to paint our house and the trim. What can I say, we own dirt bikes, we have REALLY screwed up priorities!!!

Gathering of the Pumpkins

My daughter and I ventured out to gather pumpkins. on October 9th {yes, this is a late post!!} We have good intensions for these pumpkins, and so we knew we must choose carefully. The plan is to decorate the porch, use them for our Fall Family photos, and carve them for Halloween. Here is a look at our trip to the pumpkin patch...

This is hard, becuz she wants to brings them ALL home!!

Checking for good stalks, is very important!

Soooo many great sizes and options

Can't forget about the little guys!!
Or the really little guys

Maddy has made her choice.
And then she chose a few more...

This is our haul!!
We bought all these guys from a local farmer, here in our own town, where we go every year.
I have to admit that it's not quite as much fun taking your adult child to the pumpkin patch as it is your young child, but I'm super glad she still wants to go, and enjoys it!!

Rock Show

For those of you who don't know me in REAL life, OR who haven't been following this blog for a while, you should know I'm a Metal head! I LOVE music, but specifically ROCK music. And my husband and son are in a hard rock band together, called Nervz End. This past weekend they played a show, and I'm sharing some pics from that show. It was at a local bar called Ghost Town Saloon. Usually the shows at this bar, are packed. This show had less than a normal size crowd, but was still a really good time!

I'd also like to note, it was sponsored by a radio station out of Owosso, MI called Z92.5, the Castle. They were there, and did a live broadcast, played games, had give away's from their other sponsors, Barefoot Wines, Dan Dan the Matress Man (who is giving away a leather chair} and Alley T's Screen print & Embroidery.

Ready for the pics...
**************WAIT!!! WAIT!!! WAIT!!!*****************
I should mention that not all these pics are rated PG. In fact you may find a couple inappropriate or offensive. Just thought I should warn you, just in case!!!
