What's On My Desk~this week

I am Script Art OBSESSED!!!  For as long as I can remember, I've been a fan of script art. When I was younger I would use my cheap water color paints, and notebook paper, and I would paint countless words on paper and tape them to my bedroom walls. I never had real art supplies, but I enjoyed the process.

A while back, I took a brush script class, on line,  from an artist named Kal Barteski. I enjoyed the class, bought real art supplies and attempted a few projects, but I quickly realized that there is a very good reason that artists get paid to create art, and that I'm never going to be one of those artists!! Don't get me wrong, I can do a decent job of copying some works, I even made my own wrapping paper this year, but I don't have the skill that Kal does.

I read Kal Barteski's blog. I follow her on Instagram. I am a bit of a stalker/creeper when it comes to her art. I browse through her art gallery wishing I could own some of her stuff. So when I realized that there would be a line of Scrapbook/Project Life products by Amy Tangerine, the Plus One collection, that would included Kal's script in them, well I knew I MUST OWN THEM!!!! I'm not quite caught up with my 2013 album, and I have NOT yet decided exactly what my approach will be for 2014, but I KNOW it will included pieces with her script. Yep, I'm a dork!!! I may even be inspired to get my paint out and try some of my own script art in the 2014 Project Life album!!

Disclaimer: I have seriously cut back on the amount/frequency with which I buy scrapbook/project life/art supplies over the last couple of years. If you are a crafter then you are aware that the big CHA show was a few weeks back, and that means new craft supplies being released. I think this has been one of the best years for new stuff, at least for me!!! So yes, What's On My Desk has been a LOT of supplies lately. Some of it has been clearance goodies, or stuff I got for really good prices. A few things I've been looking for, and finally found. And this past few weeks, it's been stocking up for Project Life 2014, and now the script art!!!! I'm finally done with the shopping, every month I will receive my Studio Calico kit, but for the most part, I'm done!!  And hopefully there will be PROJECTS On My Desk very soon!!!

it's freezing cold in The Studio,
so I'm trying to learn to love warm beverages,
in an attempt to stay warm.

This is almost a project...
the script art is a sticker, and had a cute pink heart on it.
I cut a piece of black cardstock 3x4, to fit in a project life journal card pocket
and then covered the heart with this tiny devil horns sticker that was included on the
same sheet of Amy Tangerine stickers as the quote.
It will go on a page of pictures of the band playing

More goodies, still in the box. I am really loving wood veneer!!
These will work perfect for Project Life!!!
